5 Reasons to Have Live Music at Your Next Event

Live music has the power to create an unforgettable atmosphere at any occasion, be it a wedding, corporate event, or private party. But what exactly are the benefits of having a live band perform? Let's take a closer look at the advantages of incorporating live music into your event.

Atmosphere

Live Bands Create the Perfect Atmosphere

Looking to set a lively and festive tone? A live band is an excellent choice. For a more relaxed atmosphere, consider hiring a solo musician. Live music can really help to establish the vibe you're aiming for. Don't forget that live music can also create an intimate setting. The personal touch of live musicians will make your guests feel special and give them moments to cherish, especially during significant occasions like walking down the aisle or the first dance.

Flow

Live Bands Go with the Flow

Live music offers an interactive and engaging experience, while a DJ's performance can sometimes be more passive. When hiring a band, there are numerous focal points aside from the lead singer, especially if all band members are fully engaged and enjoying the performance. A great band knows how to energize the crowd like a DJ, while also delivering unique, customized renditions of songs. They can choose to faithfully reproduce the original sound or infuse their own distinct style, making the performance truly one-of-a-kind.

Personal

Live Music is More Personal

Live musical performers bring a unique element to any occasion. When you book a live band in Mims, TN, you can add personal touches to your event in a way that other forms of entertainment cannot provide. For instance, you can select songs that hold special significance for you or your guests or choose music that complements the theme of your event. When you collaborate with SongStory, you even have the option of having a musician compose a personalized song for you and arrange for a live band to perform it. It doesn't get more personal than that!

Yes, you read that right! Live music has been found to be good for people's health and well-being. Studies have shown that watching live music can help reduce stress hormones, including cortisol. Scientists have recently looked into the positive mood-altering effects of live music and found that cortisol levels decreased after witnessing a live performance. Cincinnati Bengals 5-round mock draft: Georgia's Amarius Mims will help protect Joe Burrow

Round 1, Pick 18: OT Amarius Mims, Georgia: He has a very alluring build at 6-foot-7, 340 pounds with great length and movement skills to improve the Bengals upfront.

• Round 2 Pick 49: TE Ja'Tavion Sanfers, Texas: Just because they will likely miss out on Brock Bowers doesn’t mean the tight end draft dream is dead. Sanders recorded 76.1 and 78.9 PFF receiving grades in each of the last two years, with 38 explosive plays of 15 yards or more.

• Draft and trade for yourself — Try PFF's mock draft simulator. Trade picks and players and mock for your favorite NFL team.

After Joe Burrow went down, it was tough to see the Bengals reaching the postseason again in 2023. Though Jake Browning did give it a good run, the Bengals will now look to get healthier and reload for a postseason run in 2024.

Here are a few potential draft upgrades for them at the position of need in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bengals should look at a variety of potential offseason upgrades over the next few months, specifically at offensive tackle. Jonah Williams is a pending free agent. Over the last two seasons, he has earned 61.2 and 58.5 overall offensive PFF grades, which signals they could do better on that position, especially when compared to signing him to a bigger contract than his current rookie deal.

One option to make a change is by selecting Georgia's Amarius Mims in the first round. He has a very alluring build at 6-foot-7 and 340 pounds to go with great length and movement skills. However, due to him playing at the talent factory of Georgia, he hasn’t played much, waiting his turn before starting late in 2022 then missing much of this past season dued to an ankle injury. He’ll take some time, but he has much potential to develop.

Brock Bowers gets all the hype at the top of this tight end class – and I’m sure Cincinnati would love to draft him – but it’s hard to see him lasting to No. 18. With that in mind, they could have a good chance at getting TE2 in this class. Sanders, a former five-star recruit, is an explosive athlete at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds. He’s recorded 76.1 and 78.9 PFF receiving grades in each of the last two years with 38 explosive plays of 15 yards or more. His blocking needs more consistency, but there are some plays where he is able to hold his own on the line of scrimmage. Those flashes give you hope he can be that full-time tight end at the next level. At worst, he's a good big slot receiver.

Fiske was a late bloomer this college football season, but since Week 7, he recorded a 77.3 PFF pass-rush grade with a 14.4% pass-rush win percentage. If you watch his final game of the season against Louisville in the ACC Championship Game, where he recorded five pressures, you’ll see a 6-foot-5, 298-pound interior defensive lineman who has a nice first step and can turn speed-to-power quickly. His ability to corner around blockers is also impressive.

Round 4, Pick 115: DT TYLER DAVIS, CLEMSON

Davis feels like the consensus “good football player” who everyone likes to grab in the middle of their mock drafts. Normally, that means the player is going to go higher due to demand. Davis is an experienced college football player who has logged over 2,000 snaps in his five-year career. He doesn’t bring a ton as a pass-rusher, but he has been a stout run defender his entire career, including 2023 where he earned an elite 90.8 PFF run-defense grade. The Bengals absolutely could double dip at interior defensive line – one pass rush specialist and one run defense specialist.

Hadden has been on a long college football journey. He was a zero-star cornerback recruit from River Rouge, Michigan and was initially set to attend Central Michigan out of high school, but his grades did not allow him to qualify. He landed at Independence CC (JUCO from Last Chance U), playing one season there before transferring to Auburn as a three-star JUCO recruit. He only spent the spring with Auburn before transferring to Tennessee during the summer of 2021.

He struggled his first two years at Tennessee, recording just 64.1 and 62.2 PFF coverage grades in 2021 and 2022. Yet, in 2023, the 6-foot-1, 197-pound corner recorded an elite 90.4 PFF coverage grade with three interceptions and nine forced incompletions in just seven games.

Despite hitting on offensive tackle in the first round of this mock, I could see the Bengals taking more than one swing at offensive line in their upcoming grade. Driskell, like Mims, comes with a massive frame. He’s listed at 6-foot-9 and 330 pounds. He played center on his high school basketball teams, and you see some of that basketball athleticism when he plays tackle. The pad level is naturally high and the feet are naturally heavy, but you can’t deny the frame. With some good movement roots, he’s a good player to draft and develop.

Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims playing like his old self

ATHENS — Georgia’s offensive line played so well in Amarius Mims’ absence the wonder was whether the Bulldogs even needed the preseason All-American tackle back in the lineup following his Week 4 ankle surgery.

The answer to that is, of course, an emphatic “yes.” And for proof, one could just ask Tennessee’s Roman Harrison. A 6-foot-2, 235-pound defensive lineman from Bainbridge, Harrison found himself as the meat in a blocking sandwich being split between Mims and right guard Tate Ratledge early in Saturday’s game. Mims happened to hoist Harrison off the ground as he passed him inside to Ratledge before taking on another would-be intruder to the outside. Receiving Harrison in midair, Ratledge merely slung Harrison to the ground and, for yet another pass play, quarterback Carson Beck found himself untouched as he delivered the football to his intended target.

In the Georgia offense’s meeting room, the Bulldogs were calling it an “alley-oop block.”

“Oh, man, the coaches were talking about their end guys and how they’re fast and they jump up the field,” Mims said this week. “So I tried to take a good set and I saw him go under me. I tried to catch him with my left hand and I caught him. Tate finished him. That’s all.”

— Brooks Austin (@BrooksAustinBA) November 19, 2023

Nine weeks after undergoing to same TightRope surgery tight end Brock Bowers underwent, Mims finally returned to the starting lineup at right tackle and played a season-high 51 snaps. He said he’s feeling like his old self again and ready to contribute the rest of the way for the Bulldogs.

“The toughest part was mentally, just watching my teammates every day and not being able to practice and play,” Mims said. “I was taking a lot of mental notes, but it was nice just to be back there.”

Xavier Truss, who left his starting post at left guard to start the next six games at tackle in Mims’ absence, remains at tackle as Dylan Fairchild and Micah Morris have now solidified the situation at guard.

Mims just laughed when asked why it took him eight weeks to be able to get back on the field for the Bulldogs while it took tight end Brock Bowers only 26 days after undergoing to same procedure.

“I don’t know, I’ll just say that Brock is not human,” Mims cracked. “Honestly, he’s different on and off the field.”

Of course, recovery can look slightly different when you’re 6-7, 340 as opposed to 6-4, 240. And Mims’ issues certainly didn’t have anything to do with shape or conditioning.

This week he reported that the last body-mass-index he took had him at 17% body fat at 340 pounds. Currently, he said, he weighs 335.

“I’ll get that number back to you when I find out,” Mims said with a smile and a win.

Red cross report

Player availability again will be at the top of Georgia’s list of concerns for the Tech game. The Bulldogs were missing several key players for last week’s trip to Tennessee, and they’re hoping to be as close to fully-well as possible for their Dec. 2 date with Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

Heading that list is junior flanker Ladd McConkey. The dynamic offensive playmaker, who missed the first four games of the season because of a chronic back issue, played only six plays against Tennessee and sat out most of practice all week with a sprained ankle.

Georgia also lost wide receiver Rara Thomas when he aggravated a foot sprain in the first quarter against the Volunteers.

“Ladd’s still recovering; trying to get him back,” Smart said in his last media briefing after Tuesday night’s practice. “Hasn’t been able to do much. … Rara hasn’t either. We’ve been keeping the weight and the pressure off of it, but hoping we can get him back as well. We’ll see.”

The Bulldogs are also expected to be without cornerback Julian Humphrey (shoulder) and starting inside linebacker Jamon “Pop” Dumas-Johnson (forearm).

Ratledge’s availability is very much up in the air. He’s been working trainers after leaving the Tennessee game with what Smart says is a non-structural knee issue. Ratledge has been “Moving and running” at practice but not taking reps with the offensive linemen.

The news was better on defensive lineman Warren Brinson, who returned to the practice field this week after not making the trip to Knoxville. He’s dealing with a calf strain.

Bullard’s buddy

In a way, Georgia’s Javon Bullard is looking forward to seeing his old friend Dominick Blaylock on The Flats on Saturday. In some other ways, he’s not.

The Bulldogs’ star safety said Blaylock was one of the toughest receivers to cover in Georgia’s practices over the years, especially when he was healthy, of course.

Blaylock had two ACL knee surgeries and long recoveries while attending UGA. A 5-star recruiting prospect out of Marietta, he started for the Bulldogs as a freshman but saw his time decrease over the years and he transferred to Georgia Tech this past offseason.

“Shout out to my boy, Dom,” Bullard said. “We used to talk and make jokes all the time at practice, because Dom was so nonchalant and so skilled. Me and Tykee (Smith) used to talk about it all time. Dominick wouldn’t even care, and he’d still be messing you up all the time at practice. He’s a great player and I’m excited to face off against him on Saturday.”

Blaylock has 21 catches for 337 yards (16 ypr) and two TDs for the Yellow Jackets this season.

Tech and Georgia meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Yo Gotti has long established himself as a successful rapper in the American music industry. His success and fame consistently draws attention to people that are related to him in diverse ways, including his ex-wife Lakeisha. Although she prefers to keep a very low profile, we are able to get some facts about the celebrity ex-wife, Lakeisha Mims.

Lakeisha Mims is an American Native Born in The 1980s

Yo Gotti’s ex-wife, Lakeisha Mims is an American national of mixed ethnicity; she has African-American roots. Beyond this, nothing much else is known about her family history and background. Her actual birth details are not available, but it is assumed that she was born in the 1980s, just like her ex-husband Yo Gotti who was born on the 19th of May 1981.

Lakeisha did not reveal information about her early life and the identities of her parents and siblings. Her educational history is also not available, but it is assumed that she is educated up to a high school level.

Lakeisha Mims is Best Known For Being Yo Gotti’s Ex-Wife

There is no available record of what Lakeisha Mims did or currently does for a living. Her only claim to fame to date is her previous marriage to the popular rapper Yo Gotti, whose real name is Mario Sentell Giden Mims. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Yo has African roots; his father is a Zimbabwe national, while his mother, Geraldine Mims, is a South African.

A post shared by Yo Gotti (@yogotti)

Though he has attained success, fame, and wealth today, Yo Gotti comes from a very humble background where he started hustling at a very young age in order to make ends meet. He would later develop an interest in music and started rapping at age 14. By the time he was 19, he dropped his debut album titled Youngsta’s On a Come Up.

After that, he has gone on to release 10 more studio albums and numerous successful hit singles. Yo Gotti is currently one of the forces to reckon with the American hip-hop scene. He is also a record producer and owns his own record label dubbed Collective Music Group (CMG) which has produced popular artists, including Moneybagg Yo and 42 Dugg.

How Long Did Lakeisha Mims’ Marriage to Yo Gotti Last?

Lakeisha Mims and Yo Gotti reportedly met each other for the first time in the late 1990s when they were still teenagers. At this time, Yo was still at the very beginning of his music career pursuit. It is not known exactly where and when they met, but records show that they first became friends and, from there, started dating.

Their relationship blossomed, and they were both supportive of each other. After dating for a couple of years, they decide to take their relationship to the next level and met each other’s family. They eventually got married in 1999 in a non-elaborate wedding ceremony that had the presence of their family members and a few loved ones.

After their marriage, Lakeisha and her husband settled into building a family life, and together they bought a home in Memphis. At this time, Yo’s career had already started thriving, and Lakeisha kept on supporting his endeavors. Gotti was this time at the peak of his career, and his efforts were rewarded with several recognitions and nominations.

On her own part, Lakeihsa is only known to be keeping the home and, perhaps, had a business she was running by the side, which is not publicly known. During these years, they welcomed three children; a son and two daughters named Kayla and Mariah Mims. The couple was together raising their kids, and Gotti tried his best to be a present father to them.

However, details of their children are kept away from the media, including when they were born, their education, career endeavors, and what they have been up to since after their parents’ divorce. However, what is certain is that they were all born within the years their marriage lasted.

Lakeisha and Yo Gotti Divorced After About Ten Years of Marriage

Exactly how many years Lakeisha Mims and Yo Gotti spent together in marriage is known, but their union lasted for about a decade. They reportedly called it quits sometime in late 2010 or early 2011. Details of this information are not verified because their separation and divorce were done completely without any drama.

This is not surprising because even while they were married, Lakeisha and Yo had always kept their personal and family lives away from the media. They apparently followed the same route during their divorce. As such, the actual reason behind their breakup and the terms of their divorce settlement are not publicly disclosed

However, it is most probable that Lakeisha got primary custody of their children while Gotti got visitation rights. It is also believed that the rapper was asked to pay for spousal and child support.

Where is Yo Gotti’s Ex-wife Now?

As the story goes, Lakeisha Mims only came to public and media notice following her marriage to Yo Gottin, and ever since the married packed up, the celebrity wife has simply disappeared from the public eye. Worse luck, Lakeisha does not have a presence on any social media platform, and none of her children appears to be on social media.

This has made it very difficult to keep a tab on her life to know what she has been up to and whether she got remarried. She might still be living in Memphis with her children, but it is also possible that she has moved out of the city. But whichever it is, it is believed that Lakeisha Mims and her children are living a comfortable and fulfilled life.

Meanwhile, the story is not the same with her ex-husband Yo Gotti. Following their divorce, the rapper has been growing from strength to strength in his music career and has got much more fame, thanks to his multiple charting albums and hit songs. Away from that, Yo Gotti has had an active relationship life, although he hasn’t remarried.

Some of the women he has dated after his divorce from Lakeisha include Instagram model Yaya Sandoval and fashion designer Angela Simmons. He currently has a total of 6 children, which includes the ones with his ex-wife.
